It was another lovely Sunday in Colonial Park, NJ when we met up with Lisa, John, and their two very energetic pups to take their engagement photos. If you are looking for a NJ engagement photo location idea, Colonial Park is a great place. It has lots of flowers, flowering trees in spring, a gazebo, open grassy areas, a nice path, and more. And that’s just the area near parking lot F. There are many other areas that you can go to as well. Our understanding is that you cannot take professional photos in the rose garden, but other than that, you can take photos all around the park.
Lisa and John’s wedding color is plum and they will also be featuring sunflowers. The first prop that they wanted to use is this cute sign “Two are better than one”. We couldn’t agree more and we could really see the love on their faces. We took photos of them with their dogs in a number of places throughout the park.
Lisa brought a number of props and we thought this one was particularly cute. We guess it took John a while to propose. 🙂 She looks thrilled though!
Lisa’s engagement ring is very pretty and she wanted us to duplicate a photo she had seen on Pinterest. Although we always have our own photo ideas, we are happy to create something specific if engaged couples bring us ideas.
Gwynne always likes to get a close up shot of the engagement ring incorporating things from the venue we are using. In this photo, magnolia petals provided a nice backdrop for Lisa’s ring.
And last, but not least, we took a photo with a sign Lisa made. It incorporated the sunflowers and announces their big day to the world. We mentioned this is a great NJ engagement photo location idea and this photo proves our point. Just look at how the purple lilacs help accentuate Lisa’s wedding color choice. We love it when we can do fun things like this.
We wish Lisa and John a very happy and healthy life together!
All the best, Gwynne and Ron
