We had the pleasure of doing a NJ engagement photo session this spring with Haley, Matt, and their adorable dog Lola. We met them around 5:00 at the Pearl S. Buck House in PA. It was a lovely evening and the light make for some gorgeous photos. Haley requested a “rustic chic” theme for her engagement photos and we thought the Pearl S. Buck House would be perfect with it’s beautiful gardens and stone buildings. It’s always amazing and fun to photograph couples that are engaged.
Haley had brought a few props which turned out to be a lot of fun to use during the session.
They wanted to include their dog Lola because she is an important part of their lives. Haley told us that when Matt proposed, the ring was tied to Lola’s collar. If that doesn’t just melt your heart, I’m not sure what will, especially when you look at how cute Lola is.
Haley had a beautiful engagement ring that Gwynne photographed in a bed of purple pansies. The ring is just beautiful!
We walked around the property and found a number of nice locations. The people at the Pearl S. Buck House are SO nice. We were there past closing time, so at one point the last woman to leave came up to us and told us she had to leave, but we could stay if we would just pull the gate shut so it looks like it was closed. Now how often does something like that happen!
One of the shots that we like to capture is a silhouette. This is done 100% in camera, not in any photo editing software. We first take a photo of the couple in which they are silhouetted against a bright sky, then we capture some of the beautiful scenery and overlay it into the silhouette photo. It’s fun and we think it makes a lovely image for Haley and Matt to see.
We want to thank Haley, Matt, and Lola too for showing us their love and allowing us to capture it on such a nice spring evening. Just another fun NJ engagement photo session in the spring!
All the best, Gwynne and Ron
